David Cohen, author of The Cohen Side, holds a BA in History from Brandeis University and a Masters Degree from Boston University where he focused on International Political and Legal History. David also studied European Politics and International Law at King’s College in London as well as Jewish Education at Hebrew College in Newton, MA.
David has spent over fifteen years working in the fields of education, politics, and non-profit management. As an educator, David served as Adjunct Faculty at Fisher College, where he taught History and Government, and also spent several years teaching History, Philosophy, Sociology, and Legal Studies at Brookline and Beverly High Schools. In the political arena, David worked on the Mike Dukakis and Paul Tsongas presidential campaigns, serving as a Communications Director in Atlanta for the Committee to Elect Paul Tsongas.
David has a particular expertise in the field of Middle East politics and Israeli/Arab relations. He spent three years directing an Israel based social justice program that brought Jewish and Arab communities together to build bridges of understanding. Most recently, David served as Associate Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League’s New England Region, where he ran their Israel education programs and provided Middle East policy analysis.
Currently David is a member of the Israel Advocacy speakers bureau for the Israeli Consulate to New England and the Jewish Community Relations Council. David also sits on the Combined Jewish Philanthropies Boston-Haifa Living Bridges committee where he continues to help supervise a variety of programs related to Israel education.
David also provides independent consulting services in non-profit management and community outreach, while also providing speaking presentations for all ages on issues related Israel, the Middle East, the Holocaust, and the Israeli/Arab conflict.
